Like the true retro California transplant she is, Lana Del Rey graced the cover of V magazine’s July issue wearing all designer labels while discussing everything from politics to music with the legendary Stevie Nicks.

The 32-year-old New York native showed off her self-proclaimed "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" style during her dreamy, 1960s-inspired cover shoot, photographed in two retro-chic outfits, donning classic pieces from Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent and Dior.

"Regardless of where someone is at personally, the current landscape jolts you into being present, if you’re not crazy," Del Rey told Stevie Nicks of the current political climate in V magazine's issue 108. "If you’re a normal person, you’re suddenly aware and watching everything.” A close-up shot of the songstress highlights her Jackie-O-esque bouffant hairdo and voluminous lashes with her signature "last night's cat-eye." She wore a Ralph Lauren jacket, Saint Laurent shirt and oversize leather Balmain belt.

When speaking of her new music, the singer -- whose new track "Cherry" was previewed on V's Instagram account -- said how lucky she feels "to be able to speak my mind through music right in the present moment." One of her favorite tracks from the new record is named after California's Yosemite National Park, and while wearing a Dsquared2 cape, Dior shirt, black Saint Laurent pants, Vince knee-high boots and oversize Altuzarra belt, she begins to sing the chorus of it. "'We did it for fun, we did it for free, I did it for you, you did it for me, we did it for the right reasons.’ And that’s been the theme of my record: being in touch with what it takes to do things for the right reasons," she said.
