The Harry Potter franchise has finished but fans have turned their attention to making a prequel film about Lord Voldemort, the central main antagonist in J. K. Rowling’s series of Harry Potter novels and films.

The film’s director spoke with Warner Bros.— which owns the movie rights to the Harry Potter franchise —  and they gave the project the go-ahead.

Earlier this year, Tryangle Films set up a Kickstarter page in an attempt to raise funds for their project Voldemort: Origins of the Heir, which is a film based on Tom Marvolo Riddle’s life before he became Lord Voldemort.

The movie intends to tell the story of how one Tom Marvolo Riddle goes from a slightly disturbed but highly talented young wizard to the strange-looking villain Lord Voldemort.
