Ed Sheeran, the singer who has two Grammy Awards, six billion YouTube views, and 70 million online followers, just broke a record of selling 170,000 tickets in 2 hours for 3 of his shows in Melbourne next March. Amongst it all, Sheeran will also tour New Zealand for two shows as a part of the Divide World Tour.

Ed Sheeran’s promoters say that more shows will be added to his record-breaking New Zealand tour.

Sheeran’s touring company, Frontier Touring announced on Facebook that they were in discussion with the pop star about adding more shows to the New Zealand tour.

Sheeran's five-date tour set for March next year is also “Sold out”, assuring that it will be the biggest music event ever staged in New Zealand. Over 200,000 tickets were sold for the five shows in Auckland and Dunedin of which the sales went up yesterday (24 May) afternoon. Some fans even noted that they had trouble buying tickets even 2 minutes after the ticket sale went up.

Sheeran will perform at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on March 24, 25 and 26, and at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium on March 29 and 31.

Frontier also mentioned that the only show that has tickets left is the one on the 26^th of March. They also told fans to "stay tuned" for news on additional shows as it’s currently under discussion.
