Kanye West was so upset during the live taping of "Saturday Night Live" that he nearly pulled a Houdini and walked off the show.

The New York Post reports that Yeezus had an epic tantrum and threatened to walk off the set of the live show because he was unhappy with the set for his performance, which included a video screen and little else (which is common for "SNL.")

Kanye's threats became so bad that "SNL" boss Lorne Michaels and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, had to calm him down.

"Just moments leading into the live show, and during the live show, Kanye had a meltdown and threatened to walk off," a source claimed.

Another source said, "It had something to do with the set. "Kim, who was in the audience with Kylie Jenner, had to come down. Lorne had to personally talk to Kanye. There were a few really tense minutes."

Multiple sources confirmed the incident to the New York paper.

A second source said, "[Kanye] freaked out about how the set was arranged. He was saying he's 'the greatest artist.' He's having regular meltdowns. Everyone's walking on eggshells around him. He's under a lot of stress between the new album and the fashion line."

Many among the staff were wondering what they would do if Kanye walked away from the Melissa McCarthy-hosted show.

After the artistic differences were set aside, Kanye finally performed.
