The theme for the 2026 Met Gala has been unveiled and it’s bold. “Fashion Is Art” is officially the dress code for the upcoming event at the iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This theme opens the door for couture that blurs the line between gallery and runway. Expect sculptural silhouettes, museum-worthy craftsmanship, avant-garde chaos, and probably at least three outfits that break the internet.

If celebrities take it literally, we could see walking canvases, performance art, and gowns that belong behind velvet ropes.

The real question is: who’s going to understand the assignment… and who’s about to get dragged
