Scarlett Johansson has officially been cast as the lead in a brand-new Exorcist film from director, writer, and producer Mike Flanagan. The project developed by Universal, Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, and Morgan Creek Entertainmentis a standalone story set in The Exorcist universe, separate from 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer. According to Flanagan, he aims to create “the scariest movie” of his career, focusing on a bold new direction rather than relying on nostalgia.
