Nintendo has officially announced a live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, co-produced with Avi Arad and Sony Pictures, with Wes Ball (of Maze Runner) directing. Shigeru Miyamoto, the game’s creator, is also producing. Filming began in November 2025 in Wellington, New Zealand, and Nintendo revealed first-look photos of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Princess Zelda. The film is now set to hit theaters on May 7, 2027.
