The final season of Stranger Things, set to premiere on Netflix this winter, is pushing the boundaries of TV storytelling with episodes that are essentially feature-film length. According to interviews with the cast and showrunners, most of the eight episodes will run between 90 and 120 minutes, and the finale is expected to exceed 2.5 hours, making the full season nearly three times longer than the first season.  Stars like Maya Hawke have called it “eight movies,” as the team pours epic cinematic scale and emotional weight into the arc that concludes Hawkins’ saga and the battle against Vecna.
