Marlon Wayans has pushed back against negative reviews of his new film HIM, saying that critics’ opinions don’t always reflect how audiences will respond.
He shared screenshots of past Rotten Tomatoes scores for his earlier films like White Chicks, Scary Movie 2, Don’t Be a Menace, and A Haunted House which were poorly received by critics at first but later developed cult followings.
Wayans emphasized that art is subjective, innovation isn’t always embraced immediately, and invited people to “go see for yourself” before forming an opinion.
