CARDI B'S INNOCENT
Cardi B has successfully defended herself against a $24 million lawsuit filed by former security guard Emani Ellis, who accused the rapper of assaulting her during a 2018 incident at a Beverly Hills obstetrician's office. On September 2, 2025, a California jury unanimously cleared Cardi B of all charges after deliberating for less than an hour. The jury found that Ellis failed to provide convincing evidence that Cardi B physically assaulted her, spat on her, or used racial slurs. Cardi B denied the allegations, stating that the incident was a verbal dispute over privacy concerns during a private visit when she was secretly pregnant. A key witness, a receptionist, supported Cardi B's version of events, testifying that she saw no physical contact between the two but did observe Ellis strike a receptionist.
