Adele had to halt her London show last night after a member of the audience fainted.

The singer was performing hits from her 19 and 21 albums at Hammersmith Apollo when the incident happened.

Just before starting a rendition of 'Rumour Has It', Adele stopped the set after noticing the fan fainting in the stalls.

She asked: "Has someone fainted?" before medics rushed over to help the collapsed crowd member.

After the fan was safely removed from the audience, Adele joked: "That's proper rock 'n' roll."

The 23-year-old, wowed the audience at the 2011 BRIT Awards with a spectacular live performance of her song, ‘Someone Like you’ and has achieved great success on the charts with her top hit, ‘Rolling in the Deep’. Her style of music and lyrics capture the emotions of someone who has experienced love ending in heartbreak and many fans find that the songs empathize with their own lives and emotions.
