Even billionaires can’t control the weather. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s glitzy wedding welcome party in Venice came to a soggy halt Thursday night after a thunderstorm sent their A-list guests running for cover.

The bride was seen dashing from Madonna dell’Orto church to a waiting water taxi, shielded by umbrellas. Kim and Khloé Kardashian were also spotted making a swift exit, along with Kris, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner—who even posted her rain-soaked ride on Instagram.

Despite the downpour, spirits remained high. Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King smiled as they headed out, and newly single Orlando Bloom was seen casually chatting while waiting to leave.

Water taxis were called in 45 minutes early as rain drenched the canals, cutting the evening short. As one guest quipped, “You can have all the money in the world but you can’t control the weather.” Still, in Italy, a wet bride means good luck!
