Pixar has unveiled its next animated feature, Gatto, during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 13. Directed by Enrico Casarosa and produced by Andrea Warren — the creative team behind Luca — Gatto will mark Pixar’s 32nd feature and returns viewers to Italy, this time to the enchanting canals of Venice.

The film follows Nero, a black cat navigating the city’s superstitions and secrets. After years of surviving the streets, Nero begins to question whether he’s used his nine lives wisely. When he falls into debt with a feline mob boss, he must form an unlikely friendship that could finally give his life purpose — if Venice doesn’t get to him first.

Gatto is slated for a summer 2027 release. Pixar has released 28 films to date, with Elio arriving next weekend and several more projects already in development.
