Mariah Carey’s highly anticipated music video for Type Dangerous drops Friday night — and director Joseph Kahn says fans should “brace themselves” for an “earth-shattering surprise.”

Kahn urged fans to cancel their Friday plans, posting on X: “Cancel your booty calls Friday night, you're going to be busy watching Type Dangerous.” He teased that the surprise is “unguessable,” adding, “I’m not kidding. Brace yourself lol.”

Type Dangerous, released last week, marks Mariah’s first solo single in six years and offers a glimpse into her long-awaited 16th studio album — her first since 2018’s Caution. The track samples Eric B. and Rakim’s 1986 classic Eric B. Is President.

Mariah recently shared, “I’ve been locked up in the studio… and I’m thrilled for the unveiling of it to my fans.”

Adding to the excitement, Anderson .Paak revealed he’s collaborating with the pop icon on new music for the project.
