WIZ KHALIFA GETS EMOTIONAL DURING NPR TINY DESK PERFORMANCE

Wiz Khalifa brought both nostalgia and raw emotion to his recent NPR Tiny Desk performance, celebrating the release of Kush & Orange Juice 2, the sequel to his iconic 2010 mixtape. Backed by a full live band, Khalifa performed a 20-minute set featuring jazzy renditions of classics like “Red Eye,” “Mezmorized,” and “The Kid Frankie.”

Wearing a Snoop Dogg-inspired shirt, the rapper gave a rock-tinged version of “Never Been” before ending with “Crime Bud and Women.” As he looked into the crowd, he spotted close friends and family—including his father—and broke down in tears. “Y’all made me cry!” he said emotionally.

The performance follows the April release of Kush & Orange Juice 2, which includes features from Don Toliver, Juicy J, and Ty Dolla $ign. Khalifa told Rolling Stone he sees “tons of maturity” in his new work, emphasizing positivity and growth.
