Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has crossed a major domestic milestone, earning over $125 million in less than three weeks. The latest installment sees Tom Cruise return as Ethan Hunt, continuing the fight against the deadly AI threat known as the Entity.
Despite opening the same weekend as Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, which dominated with a $146 million debut, The Final Reckoning held strong with $79 million over Memorial Day weekend and has since reached $356.3 million globally, including $231.2 million from international markets.
With a reported $400 million production budget, the film hasn’t broken even yet, but its box office resilience proves Cruise’s enduring star power nearly three decades into the franchise.
Strong word-of-mouth, practical stunts, and Cruise’s signature high-octane action have helped keep Mission: Impossible one of the last reliable action franchises in theaters. The film opened in China on May 30, giving it further room to climb.
