Big Ocean, K-pop’s first all-deaf idol group, is breaking barriers and making waves across the global music scene. Composed of members PJ, Jiseok, and Chanyeon, the trio blends choreography, sign language, and cutting-edge tech to deliver stunning performances—despite hearing disabilities.
Debuting in April 2024, Big Ocean recently completed a solo European tour to celebrate their first anniversary, promoting their second mini-album Underwater. Their high-energy shows rely on innovative tools like vibrating smartwatches, LED timing cues, Bluetooth hearing devices, and AI-enhanced vocal training.
Each member brings a unique background—PJ was a YouTuber educating viewers about hearing disabilities, Chanyeon an audiologist, and Jiseok a former ski racer. Their global fanbase, known as PADO, has embraced their message of inclusion, with many now learning sign language to connect more deeply with the group.
Big Ocean isn't just performing—they're changing what’s possible in K-pop.
