Kehlani recently responded to a viral TikTok thread where fans shared negative celebrity encounters — many naming her as “rude.” The singer, who uses she/they pronouns, acknowledged the backlash in a TikTok video, saying some stories were exaggerated, but others were “valid.”

Kehlani opened up about struggling with bipolar and borderline personality disorders, along with social anxiety, at the time of these interactions. “You just have no idea how to regulate yourself or deal with anything,” she said, explaining her difficulty responding appropriately in public situations.

They admitted to “coming off rude as hell” in the past but emphasized that it was never intentional. Kehlani added they are now properly diagnosed, regulated, and able to communicate boundaries respectfully with fans. “I really wasn’t able to communicate those things,” she shared, but now she can express when she needs space or isn't feeling well.
