Jennifer Lopez revealed she suffered a painful facial injury while rehearsing for the 2025 American Music Awards. The superstar, who is set to host and perform at the show on May 26, shared a selfie on Instagram with an ice pack over her nose and eye, captioning it, “So... this happened.”

In a follow-up photo, Lopez showed a nasty gash on her nose, adding it occurred during AMAs rehearsals. She later confirmed the cut required stitches and thanked celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond for treating her. “A week later and a whole lotta ice and I’m good as new,” she wrote.

Lopez is expected to take the stage at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas, just under two weeks after the injury. This marks her return as AMA host, 10 years after her 2015 debut. Other performers include Janet Jackson, while Kendrick Lamar leads nominations with 10.
