Nearly a decade after her traumatic 2016 Paris robbery, Kim Kardashian returned to court—this time adorned in approximately $8 million worth of jewelry. Taking the stand on May 13, the SKIMS founder testified against suspects accused of tying her up and stealing over $10 million in valuables during her stay in a Paris hotel.

Kim’s courtroom look included a striking emerald-cut diamond ring resembling the stolen 20-carat piece from ex-husband Kanye West, a diamond necklace, and multiple earrings—all standing out against her all-black outfit. Jewelry expert Laura Taylor noted the choice was symbolic, saying Kim “is no longer letting the trauma dictate what she wears.”

In her emotional testimony, the 44-year-old recalled thinking she would be killed during the robbery. “I absolutely did think I was gonna die,” she told the court.

Ten suspects face charges in connection with the heist, which forever changed Kardashian’s relationship with fame and security.
