Pop sensation Lola Young tops the list of nominees for this year’s prestigious Ivor Novello Awards, celebrating excellence in songwriting. Young has earned three nominations, including Best Song Musically and Lyrically for her chart-topping hit Messy. She’s also in the running for Best Album, facing off against Charli XCX’s Brat, which made waves last summer.

Charli XCX, rapper Ghetts, and singer Raye each have two nominations, along with Young’s co-writer Conor Dickinson. Other notable contenders include Harry Styles, Fontaines D.C., Laura Marling, Bashy, and Pa Salieu.

Former Little Mix star Jade earns a nod for Best Contemporary Song with her solo debut Angel of My Dreams. Meanwhile, Wham!’s Last Christmas receives recognition for Most Performed Work, 40 years after its release.

The winners will be announced in London on 22 May, where U2 will be honored as Academy Fellows, the Ivors’ highest accolade.
