Pop star Chappell Roan has revealed that performing her break-up anthem My Kink Is Karma is stopping her from moving on. Speaking on the Las Culturistas podcast, the singer admitted that singing the track, which channels rage and bitterness, brings her anger back every time.
“I actually still feel mad. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over it,” Roan confessed. When asked if the song itself was keeping her locked into those feelings, she replied, “Yeah... especially if you hate them.”
Released in 2022, the track gained a second life after her 2023 debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess went viral.
Roan also reflected on her live shows, saying she connects more with emotional ballads. “I’m actually better at performing ballads than I am pop songs,” she said. “The ballads go so heavy live because they sound better.”
