KATY PERRY RESPONDS TO BACKLASH OVER BLUE ORIGIN SPACE FLIGHT
Katy Perry is defending her dreams—one space suit at a time.
The “E.T.” singer faced mixed reactions after joining the all-female Blue Origin space launch on April 14, alongside Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, NASA’s Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn. But during her April 23 concert in Mexico City, she appeared to address the criticism directly.
“Has anyone ever called your dreams crazy?” she asked the crowd, nodding to her lifelong goal of space travel. Katy even brought two fans dressed in blue spacesuits onstage, calling them part of her “current timeline.”
Despite critics like Emily Ratajkowski calling the mission “optical progress,” Perry remains unfazed. She previously shared she’s dreamed of going to space for nearly 20 years.
Gayle King also emphasized the mission’s purpose, saying it aimed to explore solutions for Earth’s sustainability—even during the brief 11-minute journey.
For Katy, it’s not just a spectacle—it’s a statement.
