EX-STAFFER FROM THE MET CLAIMS KYLIE JENNER’S ‘RULE’ GOT HIM FIRED FROM THE MET GALA
A former Met Gala staffer has claimed Kylie Jenner’s on-carpet “rule” may have cost him his job. Italian model Eugenio Casnighi, 27, who worked as a greeter at the 2022 and 2023 Met Galas, says he was fired for unintentionally “upstaging” Kylie after going viral in the background of her red carpet photos.
Eugenio recalled Kylie’s specific instruction: “Don’t get too far from me… but don’t stay too close, or it’ll look like we’re dating.” He followed her guidance—keeping five steps behind her—but the online buzz apparently backfired.
“I was just holding her bag,” Eugenio said. “That’s what I was paid to do.”
Despite the fallout, he holds no hard feelings. “I’d love to clear the air with her,” he said, adding that he hasn’t heard from Kylie or her team since. “But I think she’s just fine.”
