Joe Jonas is setting the record straight about his relationship with former girlfriend Taylor Swift.

The pair were the first couple of pop back in 2008, but their very public split reportedly inspired Swift's confessional hit 'Forever & Always'.

Jonas is now revealing that he has no hard feelings about 'Forever & Always' because musicians often write about their failed romances.

"[Taylor is] great. Yeah, we're friends,," he told Access Hollywood Live. "In this industry you meet a lot of people and you stay in touch. 

"Obviously, it's tough to be friends with people that are always constantly travelling, but yeah, we're cool."

Jonas also insisted that he is a "single man", in spite of host Kit Hoover's claim that he looked to be "young and in love" with model Gigi Hadid in a recent press snap.

"You're putting words in my mouth, huh?... Do you want me to jump up and down on the couch," Jonas jokingly replied.

Hadid split from long-time boyfriend Cody Simpson in recent weeks.
