GREEN DAY AND CHARLI XCX KEEP THE BANTER ALIVE AT COACHELLA WEEKEND TWO

The playful feud between Green Day and Charli XCX lit up Coachella weekend two, continuing the viral buzz from their shared headline slot. After Charli wore a cheeky “Miss Should Be Headliner” sash during an afterparty on April 13, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong fired back by sporting a fan’s “Brat” hat onstage during their April 19 set. Drummer Tré Cool joined the fun with a handmade sash reading “Actual Headliner,” complete with pink eye makeup and color-coordinated accessories.

Charli, clearly amused, reposted the look on X, writing, “obsessed.” Her second Coachella set didn’t disappoint—she brought out Addison Rae for a “Von Dutch” remix, and was joined by Billie Eilish, Lorde, and Troye Sivan for standout performances from her Brat era.

The 32-year-old pop innovator closed with a cryptic on-screen message questioning the end of “Brat Summer”—though with Glastonbury, LIDO Festival, and Parklife ahead, it’s far from over.
