Kim Kardashian opened up about her brief marriage to Kris Humphries on the March 13 episode of The Kardashians. Reflecting on her engagement ring, Kardashian revealed that while Humphries proposed with an 18-karat emerald cut from Lorraine Schwartz, he contributed only a fifth of the cost. “I bought the ring,” she clarified.

Kim also shared a surprising detail about their divorce—Humphries demanded that she return the ring. “I was pregnant with North and still married to him. In order to divorce, he said I had to give it back,” she explained.

Her hairstylist Chris Appleton called the demand “savage,” while jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz supported Kim’s decision to part with the ring, telling her it was for the best. Despite everything, Kim admitted, “I would’ve loved a collection” of rings from her past relationships.
