Lady Gaga has opened up about her struggles with psychosis, revealing that she faced the condition during the release of her 2020 album Chromatica. In a candid interview with The New York Times, she shared her experience with the disorder, stating, "I hate feeling defined by it," but emphasizing that people shouldn't feel ashamed of such struggles. "It can get better. It did for me, and I’m grateful for that," she added.
Psychosis, a mental health condition that causes a loss of touch with reality, can lead to symptoms such as paranoia, confusion, and anxiety. It affects a significant number of people each year, with studies estimating that 15 to 100 out of 100,000 individuals experience psychosis annually. While Gaga didn't reveal the specific cause of her condition, experts suggest it can be triggered by medications, sleep deprivation, or mental and physical illnesses.
