TUPAC SHAKUR MURDER SUSPECT DUANE DAVIS CLAIMS INNOCENCE

Duane "Keffe D" Davis, the man arrested in connection with the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur, is maintaining his innocence. Speaking from behind bars at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, the 61-year-old insisted, "I did not do it," adding, "They don't have nothing. They can't even place me out here."

Davis claims he was in Los Angeles when Shakur was killed in Las Vegas and says witnesses can support his alibi. However, investigators allege that Davis, a former gang leader of the Crips in Compton, was the "shot caller" who orchestrated the fatal attack on Shakur.

The case against Davis includes details from his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend, though he contends he never read the book and that his co-author wrote it independently after gathering his life stories. Charged with one count of murder with a gang enhancement, Davis continues to deny any involvement in the legendary rapper's death.
