FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2 ANNOUNCED FOR DECEMBER 2025

A sequel to the 2023 Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is set for release on December 5, 2025. The first film, a surprise hit, grossed $300 million worldwide despite a modest $20 million budget. It followed security guard Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) who uncovers the horrors of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, where animatronics come to life and kill after midnight. While reviews were mixed, it resonated with Gen Z fans due to its loyalty to the game’s lore. Details about the sequel’s plot remain scarce, though it is expected to take place in another Freddy Fazbear location. Matthew Lillard, who played villain William Afton, is confirmed to return, and Hutcherson is likely to reprise his role. Piper Rubio and Elizabeth Lail are also expected to return. The sequel is anticipated to be even scarier than the first, according to Hutcherson.
