ELON MUSK CONSIDERS REVIVING VINE AS PART OF X'S ALL-IN-ONE PLATFORM VISION
Elon Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter), is considering reviving the short-form video app Vine, following the growing popularity of platforms like TikTok. Vine, launched in 2013, allowed users to create six-second videos, becoming a pioneer in short-form content before shutting down in 2017 due to declining ad revenue and competition from platforms like Instagram. With TikTok’s success, Musk has hinted at bringing Vine back, noting his team is "looking into" the idea. This follows a 2022 poll showing strong public interest in the revival. By integrating Vine into X as a feature similar to Instagram’s Reels, Musk aims to capitalize on X’s large user base and expand its services. This move aligns with his broader goal of transforming X into an all-in-one platform.
