A judge has dismissed several claims in a lawsuit filed against Lizzo's Big Grrrl Big Tour company by former stylist Asha Daniels. The claims, which included allegations of racial and sexual harassment, were thrown out as they reportedly occurred in Europe, outside U.S. jurisdiction.
Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha ruled that Daniels failed to prove her allegations stemmed from work done within the U.S. Additionally, Daniels could not demonstrate she had worked unpaid overtime, a key component of her lawsuit. The judge also determined Lizzo and her management team could not be held personally liable.
Lizzo's publicist, Stefan Friedman, previously stated that Daniels "never actually met or spoke with Lizzo." The decision marks a partial victory for Lizzo’s legal team, as Daniels’ claims of a hostile work environment remain under scrutiny. The lawsuit continues to attract attention amidst Lizzo's ongoing global tours.
