Anne Hathaway will star in Amazon MGM Studios' adaptation of Colleen Hoover's hit thriller Verity. Confirmed by Hoover on Instagram, Hathaway will portray Verity Crawford, a best-selling author unable to complete her series after a mysterious accident. The story follows Lowen Ashleigh, a writer hired to finish Verity's work, who uncovers unsettling family secrets that blur reality. Directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick), the film reunites Hathaway with her The Idea of You director. Screenwriter Nick Antosca (The Act, Candy) joins the project, adding his suspense expertise. Hoover expressed her excitement for the adaptation and hinted at more announcements soon. Casting for Lowen and Jeremy Crawford is yet to be revealed. This is the second Hoover novel adapted for the screen this year, following It Ends With Us, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Verity promises another cinematic dive into Hoover's gripping storytelling.
