Despite anticipation from her team, the honor went to artists like Cher, Mary J. Blige, and Ozzy Osbourne. Reflecting on the outcome, Mariah quipped that even her lawyer, Allen Grubman, received recognition in the Hall before her.

Mariah also expressed a desire for more Grammy wins, noting that despite 34 nominations, she has only five wins. She recalled her 1996 experience when her hit album *Daydream* and singles like “One Sweet Day” and “Fantasy” received multiple nominations, yet she walked away empty-handed that night. “If they give me more Grammys, I’ll like them more,” she joked, referencing her hopes for future recognition. In addition to her competitive wins, Mariah received the Grammy Global Impact Award last February.
