Snoop Dogg is on the lookout for an actor who can "embody the spirit" of his younger self for his upcoming biopic, currently in production at Universal Pictures. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the 53-year-old rapper mentioned juggling his role as a coach on the 26th season of  The Voice while searching for the lead role. The untitled film was first announced in 2022 and is being directed by Allen Hughes, known for his work on Menace II Society and Dead Presidents. Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. , emphasized the importance of finding an actor who can capture his early, "rough around the edges" persona as he navigated his identity. This biopic will also mark the first project from Snoop’s Death Row Pictures, incorporating music from his extensive catalog following his acquisition of Death Row Records  in early 2022.
