One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has split from his girlfriend Eleanor Calder.

The pair ended their long-term relationship two weeks ago, a spokesperson confirmed to MailOnline.

The spokesperson said: "Louis and Eleanor split up two weeks ago. They have not announced this as they wanted some privacy during this time."

Tomlinson and Calder were together for around four years, with the band member admitting in 2013 that a public relationship isn't always easy.

Speaking about Calder, he said: "It hasn't been easy at times. She gets pretty intimidated by it all. I mean, who wouldn't? She can't have Twitter or anything like that.

"At first, I was like, 'Just chill out a bit, it's fine', but now I understand where she's coming from."

One Direction member Zayn Malik recently left the band's current world tour due to stress. 

Malik had previously hit out at people accusing him of cheating on girlfriend Perrie Edwards. 

"I'm 22 years old," he tweeted. "I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous people in this world I'm sorry for what it looks like."
