Adele, Bob Dylan Songs Blocked on YouTube Amid Legal Dispute

Songs by major artists like Adele, Bob Dylan, Green Day, Mariah Carey, and Kendrick Lamar have been blocked on YouTube in the U.S. due to a legal dispute with the performing rights organization SESAC (Society of European Stage Authors and Composers). As of now, users attempting to play these tracks are met with a message stating, "This video contains content from SESAC. It is not available in your country." The conflict stems from a contract disagreement between YouTube and SESAC, whose licensing agreement has expired. YouTube officials confirmed that negotiations are ongoing but noted they have been unable to reach a new deal. "We take copyright very seriously, and content represented by SESAC is no longer available on YouTube in the U.S.," a spokesperson said.  While YouTube is working toward a resolution, SESAC has yet to comment on the matter. The organization represents over 1.5 million songs, ensuring copyright protection and royalty collection for its artists. YouTube has expressed its hope to finalize an agreement soon to restore the blocked content.
