Dolly Parton has commented on Beyoncé’s exclusion from the 2024 CMA Awards nominations, despite her country-themed album *Cowboy Carter*. In an interview with *Variety*, Parton, who had her song covered by Beyoncé on the album, shared her thoughts on the matter. She noted that the country music field is filled with many long-standing artists, which might have influenced the nominations. Parton praised *Cowboy Carter* as a “wonderful album” and emphasized that Beyoncé’s effort was appreciated within the country music community. She suggested that the absence of a nomination wasn’t intentional but rather a result of the competitive nature of the industry. Parton acknowledged Beyoncé’s deep-rooted connection to country music, given her background in Texas and Louisiana. Parton also praised Post Malone’s country album, highlighting her duet with him as another standout project.
