Shiloh Jolie, the 18-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has been granted her request to legally drop "Pitt" from her last name. Shiloh first filed the petition on her 18th birthday in May 2024. After following California's four-step legal process, including publishing a notice in a newspaper and attending a hearing, her request was approved. Initially, the process was delayed due to an incomplete background check, but on August 19, the court cleared her petition, allowing her to officially go by "Shiloh Jolie." Pitt is reportedly aware of the name change and is upset, as it serves as a reminder of his estrangement from his children. Shiloh is the second of Pitt and Jolie's six children to drop his surname, following her sister Vivienne, who did so earlier this year in a Playbill credit for a Broadway production their mother produced.
