Olympic B-Girl Raygun Addresses Online Backlash After Viral Routine

Olympic B-girl Raygun, real name Rachael Gunn, took to Instagram on Thursday to discuss the severe backlash she faced following her breaking routine at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Representing Australia in breaking’s Olympic debut, Raygun’s performance received harsh criticism online, which she admitted has been “pretty devastating.”

 

Despite rumors of manipulating the Australian team selection process, Raygun stressed that the Australian Olympic Committee and World DanceSport Federation Breaking confirmed her selection was fair and based on competition performance. Raygun defended her commitment to the Olympics, emphasizing the hard work she put in while acknowledging her disappointment at receiving zero votes in all three rounds of the competition.

 

Raygun concluded her message by requesting privacy for herself and her loved ones. She condemned the harassment her family and the breaking community have endured, expressing gratitude for the support from her fans.
