Missy Elliott is working on new music with Pharrell Williams.

The rapper uploaded a picture of herself and the producer in the studio to Twitter.

Elliott has teased progress on new music since her appearance during Katy Perry's halftime show at the Super Bowl.

The rapper benefitted from a 996% sales rise in the US following the performance.

Elliott has also been in the studio with long-time collaborator Timbaland, revealing the pair are making "dirty beats".

The 'Work It' star released her last album The Cookbook back in 2005.
