"I’m a Kendrick fan for more than his music," he stated. "I appreciate his creativity and impact on the culture for Black folks." Lupe emphasized that despite not always listening to Kendrick's or Drake’s music, he values their influence and would never disparage them. He challenged fans to provide any evidence of a rift, asserting, "Show me where I've explicitly said I don’t like him." Lupe also expressed admiration for Kendrick’s former label, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), wishing for a similar creative environment in his own career.
