Missy Elliott's debut solo single, "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)," has made history by becoming the first hip-hop song transmitted into space. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory used their Deep Space Network to send the track 158 million miles to Venus, which took just 14 minutes. Elliott celebrated the milestone on X, calling it an "out of this world" achievement and a testament to pushing boundaries in both space exploration and music.
Elliott recently became the first female rapper inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a feat she described as surreal. She credited trailblazers like Queen Latifah for paving the way and highlighted that rock and roll, like hip-hop, blends various musical styles. Other Hall of Fame inductees included Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush, and George Michael.
