Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, will star alongside her mother in Disney's animated film "Mufasa: The Lion King." Directed by Barry Jenkins, the movie follows the story of Mufasa's rise to kingship through flashbacks, with Blue Ivy voicing the character Kiara, daughter of Nala and Simba. Jenkins was inspired to cast Blue Ivy after hearing her narrate an audiobook. Beyoncé enthusiastically accepted the opportunity to act opposite her daughter. Jenkins praised Blue Ivy's professionalism during recording sessions. The film features returning cast members like Donald Glover and Seth Rogen, along with new additions like Lin-Manuel Miranda as the songwriter. Miranda expressed excitement about contributing to the film's musical legacy. "Mufasa: The Lion King" is set for release on December 20th.
