The Technical University of Munich (TUM) students broke the record for the longest-range electric car with their "muc022" prototype, covering 1,599.27 miles on a single charge. They achieved this by modifying the vehicle for aerodynamics, lightness, and a larger 15.5 kWh battery. The car, weighing 374 pounds, featured a 400-watt motor and a drag coefficient of 0.159 Cd. Driving for 99 hours, they achieved an energy consumption of 103 miles/kWh, making it one of the most efficient electric cars. Recognized by Guinness World Records, the achievement was celebrated at the IAA Mobility show. Meanwhile, Swiss students set a record for the fastest-accelerating EV, reaching 0-62 mph in 0.9 seconds.
