Graffiti Vandalism Mars Unfinished LA Skyscraper Ahead of Grammy Awards
Los Angeles police have apprehended two individuals linked to extensive graffiti vandalism spanning nearly 30 floors of an incomplete downtown skyscraper. The tagging, observed across a significant portion of the $1 billion Oceanwide Plaza, coincides with the forthcoming Grammy Awards at the nearby Crypto.com Arena. Witnesses reported multiple instances of vandalism over consecutive nights, with law enforcement encountering perpetrators fleeing the scene. Detectives are actively pursuing leads to make additional arrests, while collaborating with Oceanwide Plaza management to enhance site security and expedite graffiti removal. The unfinished project, once slated to be the city's tallest residential tower, has been plagued by funding shortages since construction began in 2015, resulting in its current state of abandonment.
