Apple's Vision Pro Headsets Surpass 200,000 Units Sold, According to Report

Apple has achieved notable success with its Vision Pro headsets, surpassing 200,000 units in sales since preorders were initiated, as reported by MacRumors, citing an insider source familiar with the company's sales figures. The official launch in the US is set for this Friday, and the initial inventory quickly sold out after becoming available on January 19 at 8 a.m. ET. Despite shipping times slipping from February to March within hours, TF International Securities analyst Min-Chi Kuo's earlier estimate of 160,000 to 180,000 units sold seems to have been exceeded. Kuo had accurately predicted a swift sellout due to limited shipments and the high price tag. While acknowledging the initial demand, Kuo considers the Vision Pro a niche product, anticipating a tapering off of demand after the initial surge from dedicated fans. Apple has yet to comment on these sales figures. Priced at $3,500, the Vision Pro represents Apple's first foray into a new product category since the introduction of the Apple Watch in 2014, offering a mixed-reality experience blending virtual elements with the real world. Despite its high cost, early reviews of the headset have been generally positive.
