Lawsuit Against Madonna: Fans Allege Concert Delay of Over 2 Hours
In a recent legal development, Madonna is confronting a lawsuit from two fans who attended her Celebration Tour show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in December. According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the fans filed a lawsuit in New York, accusing the pop icon of "false advertising" as the concert allegedly started more than two hours late. The plaintiffs claim that despite the tickets stating an 8:30 p.m. start time, the concert on Dec. 13 began at 10:30 p.m., and similar delays occurred in subsequent Brooklyn concerts on Dec. 14 and 16. The lawsuit, naming Live Nation, Barclays Center, and Madonna, alleges "wanton exercise in false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices." The complainants argue that had they known about the delayed start, they wouldn't have purchased tickets, emphasizing the inconvenience for attendees with work and family responsibilities. Additionally, they claim difficulties with limited transportation options and increased costs leaving the venue after 1 a.m. The plaintiffs seek unspecified damages and as of now, Madonna's representative has not provided a comment on the lawsuit.
