When it comes to iconic roles, few can rival the aura of Elvis Presley. And yet, when Jacob Elordi, the 26-year-old Euphoria sensation, was offered the chance to bring the King of Rock back to life in Sofia Coppola's upcoming movie "Priscilla," he confessed it was a little bit terrifying. Why? Because, as it turns out, Elordi's knowledge of Elvis was limited to an animated Disney movie.
In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jacob candidly admitted, "The most I knew of Elvis was in Lilo & Stitch." Fans of the endearing Disney classic will recall that Lilo, the lovable Hawaiian girl, was an avid Elvis aficionado, even going as far as dressing up her mischievous pet Stitch as the King.
Elordi went on to recount the audacious journey from auditions to becoming the embodiment of the legendary Elvis. "Sofia had sent me these sides that said Elvis, and I just kind of thought, 'There’s just no chance that this is happening,'" he recalled. "So I watched this clip of him when he came back from the army in Germany. And I read the lines for like 15 minutes and then shot two takes and, you know, not thinking that it would go anywhere."
Yet, as fate would have it, something in Elordi's portrayal resonated profoundly.
Come Friday, November 3rd, audiences will witness Jacob Elordi's unexpected transformation into the King of Rock in "Priscilla." The journey from a Lilo & Stitch fan to embodying one of music's most iconic figures is a testament to Elordi's talent and the magic of cinema. Don't miss this extraordinary performance that promises to leave fans both dazzled and moved.
