SAG-AFTRA'S HALLOWEEN GUIDELINES AMIDST HOLLYWOOD STRIKE

As Halloween approaches, SAG-AFTRA, the prominent actors' union, has issued specific guidelines for its members who are currently on strike in Hollywood. The union's directive prohibits striking actors from donning costumes inspired by characters from certain struck content and sharing those images on social media platforms.

This means that some of this year's most popular Halloween costume choices, such as Barbie and Ken from the Barbie movie, as well as Wednesday Addams from Wednesday, are off the table for striking actors.

In a statement released on Thursday, October 18, the guild urged its members to opt for costumes inspired by generalized characters and figures like ghosts, zombies, and spiders. This move aligns with the union's stance during the ongoing strike.

Members, however, are still permitted to dress up as characters from non-struck content, such as those from animated TV shows. Notably, Marvel superheroes, owned by Disney, are also on the list of prohibited costumes.
